Abstract

This research aims to determine Islamic visionary leadership strategies in successfully leading junior high school educational institutions in Central Lombok. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study design. Research informants are school principals, teachers, and other stakeholders. Data collection uses observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis with stages of data presentation, data condensation, and conclusion. Checking the validity of data with consistency, objectivity, and transferability. The research results indicate that Islamic visionary leadership fosters an educational climate that upholds the core values of justice, trust, and deliberation. Apart from that, strengthening leadership capacity and collaboration between stakeholders is a strategic factor in enhancing the existence of Islamic educational institutions. The research implication is that Islamic visionary leadership not only manages educational administration but also builds an integrated vision of scientific excellence and moral-spiritual values. The application of this principle has a positive impact in various aspects: (1) Producing graduates who are intelligent and have noble character, (2) Making Islamic values basic in education policy, (3) Building a work culture that strategically respects teachers and staff, (4) Producing graduates who are competent, honest, responsible and have a leadership spirit, (5) Making educational institutions a center for da'wah and social empowerment.

Author Biographies

Jas Adi Marianto, UIN Mataram

He has been serving as the Vice Principal at MTs. Nurul Mujahidin Selong Belanak, Praya Barat District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, since 2015. He completed his undergraduate studies at Nahdlatul Wathan University, Mataram, in 2015, and earned his Master’s degree in Islamic Education Management from the Postgraduate Program of the State Islamic University of Mataram in 2024. He is currently active as a writer of nationally accredited books and scholarly articles.

Yudin Citriadin, UIN Mataram

He is an associate professor in the Postgraduate Program at the State Islamic University of Mataram, Indonesia, and currently serves as the Secretary of the Master’s Program in Islamic Education Management. He completed his doctoral studies in Educational Management at Malang State University in 2019. He has written and published several books and numerous articles in reputable international journals and nationally accredited journals, covering topics such as the teaching profession, educational management research variables, and qualitative research.

Lalu Mohamad Zaki Hardi, UIN Mataram

He was born in Praya on September 27, 1970. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Muhammadiyah Mataram in 1995 and began his teaching career at SMPN 2 Mataram, serving from 1995 to 1998 before being transferred to SMPN 2 Praya, where he taught until 2022. In the same year, he was appointed principal, a position he continues to hold. He is also actively involved in professional organizations as the Deputy Secretary of the Central Lombok Branch of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Islamic Education Management at the State Islamic University of Mataram.

Nurul Fauziah, STAI Al Amin Dompu

She is a lecturer in the Arabic Language Education program at Al-Amin Dompu Islamic College (STAI), Indonesia, and currently serves as Vice Chair I for Academic Affairs. She completed her Master’s degree in Islamic Studies at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University, Yogyakarta, in 2017. She has written and published several articles in nationally accredited journals, focusing on topics such as Islamic education, Arabic language education, and qualitative research.
