Abstract

This study analyzes digital ecosystem models in teacher professional development (CPD) through a narrative literature review of 30 international journal articles published between 2015 and 2024. Using purposive selection and thematic synthesis, the study identifies four interconnected models: digital collaborative professional learning, data-driven and personalized CPD, hybrid and blended CPD ecosystems, and AI-enhanced microlearning CPD. Rather than treating these models as separate approaches, this study reconceptualizes digital CPD as an integrated ecosystem in which collaboration, personalization, hybridity, and AI support operate as interdependent components. The findings show that digital ecosystems expand opportunities for teacher collaboration, adaptive feedback, flexible learning, and personalized support across diverse educational contexts. However, effectiveness depends not only on technological adoption, but also on the alignment between teachers’ digital literacy, infrastructure readiness, program design quality, and school leadership. By moving beyond descriptive categorization, this study offers an integrative and explanatory framework for understanding sustainable teacher learning across contemporary educational settings and the digital era.

Finda Vericha Ngenda, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat

She was born in Martapura on 29 September 1999. She is currently a doctoral student in Educational Administration at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), Indonesia. She manages Bimbingan Belajar Bunga and her research interests include educational administration, digital ecosystems, and teacher professional development.

Aslamiah Aslamiah, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat

She was born in Banjarmasin City on 10 January 1960. She is a senior lecturer in the doctoral program in Educational Administration at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), Indonesia. Her research primarily focuses on educational leadership, education management, early childhood education, curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and educational supervision.

Noorhapizah Noorhapizah, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat

She was born in Bandung City on 15 December 1972. She is a lecturer in the doctoral program in Educational Administration at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), Indonesia. Her research primarily focuses on management, basic education, and early childhood education.

Novitawati Novitawati, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat

She was born in Malang City on 6 November 1976. She is a lecturer in the doctoral program in Educational Administration at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), Indonesia. Her research primarily focuses on early childhood education management.

Arief Aulia Rahman, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara

He was born in Langsa on 11 October 1991. He is a lecturer in Mathematics Education at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, Indonesia.
