The Relationship between Merdeka Mengajar Platform Utilisation and Learning Management Effectiveness

Abstract

This study was motivated by various obstacles public elementary school teachers in Padang Selatan District face in utilising the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) and in managing learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum. The research aims to describe the level of PMM utilisation, examine the effectiveness of learning management, and analyse the relationship between the two variables. A quantitative approach with a descriptive survey method was employed. The sample consisted of 78 teachers selected through stratified proportional random sampling from a population of 157 teachers. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analysed through simple linear regression. The findings reveal that PMM utilisation was categorised as good (86.39%), while learning management effectiveness was 88.09%. The analysis indicates a significant relationship between PMM utilisation and learning management effectiveness, with a contribution of 74.4%. These results demonstrate that PMM plays a substantial role in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Practically, optimising PMM usage enhances learning management effectiveness, while theoretically, it reinforces the importance of integrating educational technology to improve teachers' professional performance and instructional management quality.

Author Biographies

Jon Hendri, Universitas Adzkia

He was born in Padang on May 29, 1975. He is an educator specializing in literacy and numeracy and currently serves at SDN 39 Mata Air Barat. Since 1994, he has taught in various schools and contributed as a Leading Teacher, GTK assessor, competition mentor, and literacy activist. He is also an active writer of poetry, children’s literature, and educational books, and has received numerous awards, including participation in the Indonesia–Korea teacher exchange program.

Hendrizal Hendrizal, Universitas Adzkia

He is a permanent lecturer in the Master’s Program of Elementary Education at Adzkia University. He teaches postgraduate courses and contributes to academic development and research in elementary education. He is also active institutionally as Head of Student Organizations, the Career Center, and Alumni Affairs, supporting student development and professional networking.

Adriantoni Adriantoni, Universitas Adzkia

He was born on February 4, 1988, in East Rambahan, Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra. He completed his undergraduate studies at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang and earned his Master's and Doctorate degrees from the Indonesian University of Education. He is a permanent lecturer in the Master's Program in Elementary Education at Adzkia University, the Coordinator of the PPG PGSD, and an active academic author.
